Abstract

There are many approaches in economic literature for investigation of firm performance. In general, those theories very useful for investigation the nature and role of competitive advantage. Resource based view, dynamic capability, entrepreneurial theory, neoclassic theory, industrial organization approach are some of those theories. Todays, banks try to attract customers through various new methods. However what can help banks to meet this goal is to try to achieve competitive advantage. Many banks have tried to create advantages for themselves in different ways so that preserve their place in competition with other banks. In this article, by means of structure-conduct-performance (SCP) paradigm, we investigate banks competitiveness factors. After reviewing literature and expert interviews we develop a questionnaire. Finally we find financial power as a power that has the most effect on competitiveness of Iranian bank.
